Greenway Arts Alliance Student Application [SU17]


Thank you for your interest in working with Greenway Arts Alliance. Our 20 year long partnership with Fairfax High School has provided more that $1M in support through programs like these.

Here are a few things to note about working with Greenway:

+ All student positions pay a minimum wage of $9.00/HR
+ Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA while employed
+ Students applying must be available to attend the Greenway All-Student Orientation, TBA- during early Fall and Spring

The application includes the following:

1.) Completed applications (online or paper)
2.) A student work permit
3.) Official Transcript from your school counselor
4.) A signed Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or counselor, including a contact phone number

This semester, we have opportunities in the following areas:

Melrose Trading Post Work-Study
Be an integral part of the Melrose Trading Post Operations Team! We're always looking for hard working students with a good attitude who are able to take direction, work as a team, and show leadership.

Duties: Food court maintenance, market setup & cleanup, parking attendant, ticket taker and much more.

Supervisor: J. Scott, MTP Operations Manager

Schedule: Must be available Sundays for the following time frames 6:30 AM- 1:00 PM and 12:30 PM- 7:30 PM and attendance at Professional Development ROUNDTABLES

Greenway Court Theatre Internship
Are you interested in working behind the scenes alongside professional theatre and arts administration practitioners? There are several opportunities for students to work at the Greenway Court Theatre through our paid internship program.

We have internships offered in the following areas this semester:

+ Production (2) : Organize costume and prop storage and learn about professional theatre production and design roles
+ Front of House (2) : Work with the Box Office and House Management staff to prepare and welcome audiences to the theatre
+ Vendor Team (1) : Make weekly preparations for vendors a part of the Melrose Trading Post.
+ Technical Direction (1) : Assist with technical elements of production including lighting, sound, scenic, and video production.
+ Arts Education (3) : Assist in the planning of arts events and programs for Greenway Institute of the Arts

Schedule: 2-4 Hours per week after school. Hours vary if working on production. Vendor Intern must be available Sundays

Professional Development ROUNDTABLES:

In addition to scheduled time with the Melrose Trading Post & Greenway Court Theatre, student workers will be involved in monthly professional development workshops with members of the Greenway Arts Alliance staff. This semester's ROUNDTABLES are scheduled for the following dates and times:


Greenway Youth Council
The Greenway Youth Council (GYC) is a yearlong, leadership immersion program for students interested in learning the inner-workings of a professional theater, arts education program, and social enterprise. Council members will have the opportunity to see work at Greenway Court Theatre, hear from the LA’s most celebrated professional artists, attend arts events around the city, produce events for their peers, and explore Greenway Arts Alliance from a full 360 point of view. The Council meets once a week and act as advisors to the Greenway Team.

Duties: Event planning, field trips, text analysis, professional development and much more.

Supervisor: Jasmine Barber, Director of Student Programs

Schedule: The council will meet (Schedule TBA) with extended hours for special events
