The right to vote and choose your government in regular, free and fair elections is a fundamental human right

Polling Agents are key to ensuring free and fair elections.

Pursuant to section 45 of the Electoral Act, 2014, you can only become a Polling Agent if you are appointed either by an independent candidate or any registered party contesting the 2018 General Election.

SODELPA Polling Agents will be trained about electoral laws, rules and procedures. On the day (whether you are voting in pre-poll or on polling day), agents will vote and then join a team of four-six agents for your polling station. There are 2468 polling stations in the 2018 general elections (the Elections Office can increase this).

If you are interested, please fill in the form below and email your CV to You can also visit the SODELPA Office at 66 McGregor Road, Suva, with your CV. Please get in touch by email to or call on 3301544 before you visit so that we have someone ready to see you. All the information you submit is kept confidential.

Before your application is approved, we will ask you to come in for a brief interview so we can identify your polling station and put you in contact with the coordinator for your polling venue, and discuss the training for polling agents.
