The Steering Committee of Atlanta DSA needs your help running the chapter day-to-day. If you're interested in keeping everything running smoothly so all our members can enjoy the fruits of our work, you're in the right place. ATL DSA has several Administrative Committees which assist the Steering Committee with chapter operations.

Committees are a subsidiary body of the chapter, which means they are accountable to the democratic will of the chapter in the form of General Meetings or the Steering Committee. ATL DSA's Committee Policy is available here: https://atldsa.org/about/rules/committee-policy/

Note that applicants are appointed to committees based on a majority vote by the Steering Committee.

Conduct, for Harassment Policy violations (more info: https://www.dsausa.org/about-us/harassment-policy-resolution-33/ ). The Conduct Committee consists of Harassment Grievance Officers (HGOs) who follow the steps in DSA's Harassment Policy (Resolution 33, linked above), which ATL DSA has adopted. HGOs are responsible for documenting, mediating, and resolving harassment grievances filed by members against other members. HGOs provide recommendations to ATL DSA’s Steering Committee regarding the outcome of harassment grievance cases and disciplinary action (if needed) for offending members.
