We work with improvised and determined music to deploy performance environments, with their behavioral and statistical maps, as gaming. We want to excavate musical relationships, to get to the bottom of them through relentless inquiry. We arrive at the discrete separation between spectator & scholar and we make it continuous. Contradictions between concert, rehearsal, and classroom are ripe for explosion.
Gameboard Research Unit comprises a week of lectures, workshops and performances. There will be a seminar series (pink), a final concert with rehearsals (green), an all-day workshop on Sunday (blue), and two evening lecture-concerts (yellow). Participants should register according to what they can fit into their schedule. Spectators are welcome to everything.
Donation is truly optional, but something like $10-20 per activity would be extremely helpful and generous.
