Are you a respected organization and/or professional advancing work in human health, animal well-being, and environmental stewardship? If so, you can be a valuable partner in addressing some of Alberta’s most pressing challenges.

Alberta Health Professionals for the Environment (AHPE) is a coalition of health professionals and organizations committed to protecting public health and the environment through science-based, sustainable policies.

Today, we invite you to endorse two critical Calls to Action that align with our shared commitment to a healthier, more sustainable Alberta. Your support will help drive meaningful change and amplify the collective voice of health professionals advocating for responsible environmental policy. Please complete this form to show your support on our public-facing policy statements.

You can read the Calls to Action and view all signatories:

  1. Prohibiting All New and Expanded Coal Mining Activities in Alberta
  2. Urgently and Rapidly Increasing Alberta’s Green Electric Capacity

By supporting these policies, you join a movement to:

  • Protect public health by reducing pollution and harmful environmental exposures.
  • Safeguard Alberta’s natural ecosystems, which provide clean air, water, and resilience against climate change.

Members of the AHPE are drawn from a diverse range of organizations within the health and related sectors representing nursing, pharmacy, medicine, public health, health-related charities, public education, and allied health professions. You can view the AHPE Members Directory here.

The Core Membership are organizations that are responsible for leading efforts and overseeing all AHPE activities, and is composed of representatives from health and related organizations, including nursing, pharmacy, medicine, public health, health charities, allied health professionals, workers, environmental educators, and health professionals in training/students.

Associate Membership consists of additional stakeholders with a focus outside of health or the environment and limited capacity; may be health (or related) professionals or organizations.
