Access to Appellate Justice Program Pro Bono Counsel Application
For Appellate Cases in the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division 1
The Access to Appellate Justice program helps self-represented appellate parties search for an attorney to represent them at no charge. Please fill out this form if you are interested in participating as a pro bono attorney in the program. If you qualify, you will have access to a list of pro per appellate parties with fee waivers who are seeking legal representation. You are under no obligation to accept a case if you fill out this form or if you are placed on the panel. If you accept a case, you must have a signed retainer agreement. You may not charge attorney fees for the representation.

You must satisfy at least one of the following criteria to be accepted into the program. Please check the box or boxes that apply:
Three years' experience as a California-licensed attorney plus have served as counsel on one completed appeal; OR
Licensed California Attorney with experience as counsel on five completed civil or criminal appeals
Have you ever been disciplined by a state bar or federal court or are there any pending disciplinary proceedings against you?
