Racial Healing Collaborative
CBCAC and LUV Institute are partnering together to bring you a program that promotes intercultural dialogue and racial healing between Asian American youth & African American youth! Youth will participate in planned activities designed to help them share aspects of their lives and their respective cultures, and at the end of the program a local artist will work with the youth to plan a collaborative sculpture to be displayed in both Chinatown & the Bridgeport Area.

Dates:
  • Week 1: June 25th and June 27th
  • Week 2: July 2nd and July 4th
  • Week 3: July 9th and July 11th
  • Week 4: July 16th and July 18th
  • Week 5: July 23rd and July 25th 
  • Week 6: July 30th and August 1st
Times & Locations:
  • Each session will run 2 hours* and will take place between the hours of 10am-12pm.
  • Main sessions will take place at LUV institute (2907 S Wabash Ave # 200, Chicago, IL 60616)
  • There will be two field trips to Bronzeville & Chinatown 
*There will be two sessions for field trips that will last approximately 3 hours

Stipend:
  • The stipend will be directly correlated to the amount of sessions you attend. The total stipend amount is $600, so you will receive $50 per session. Stipends will be dispensed every two weeks, so you will receive $200 after week 2, week 4, and week 6.
