Online entries will close Friday, January 12 at noon. Tshirt orders will be made December 20, 2023.Show Order: Showmanship, Purebred Market Gilts, Crossbred Market Gilts, Purebred Market Barrows, Crossbred Market Barrows- Showmanship classes will be formed based on # of entries in each age group. There is a $10 fee for showmanship.-  Market gilts and market barrows will be shown separately. Classes will be divided by weight and based on entries. For the purebred shows, there must be a minimum of 6 entries in one breed to make a breed division. Otherwise, they will be entered in AOB. For Information Contact:  Amanda Wooditch 912-347-5466 or Whit Stewart 660-641-2499Eligibility: Open to all bonafide FFA, 4H and Preclub members.  Young exhibitors must be able to exhibit his or her hog without the help of an adult or other exhibitor in the ring.General Rules:                                                                                                                                                                          - Exhibitors must show the animal that was tagged, weighed and entered in his or her name.- All hogs must have a readable ear tag to be shown.- Current health papers are required.- Barrows and gilts will be shown separately. There will be a Grand and Reserve purebred Gilt, Grand and Reserve purebred Barrow, Grand and Reserve commercial gilt, and Grand and Reserve Commercial barrow. - 1st and 2nd place in each class and Grand and Reserve champions will receive premiums. - The first place hog from each class will be in the running for Grand Champion. The second place hog from the Grand Champion’s weight class will then enter in the running for Reserve Champion. All grand champion hogs will be in the running for overall market hog. Top 5 overall hogs will be recognized. Reserve champions will be brought back for running. Weight: - All hogs must weigh 125-275 lb. Classes will be broken up after check-in according to weight. The classes will be broken as evenly as possible according to entries. Each hog will be assigned to a weight class.   - If you have any discrepancies about the weight of your animal, you must voice your concern when the weight is announced. There will not be any official reweighs after your hog has left the scale.   Pens/ Parking (PLEASE READ):- Due to a limited number of pens in the barn, pens will be available for $10/ pen on a first come, first serve basis based on the order of entries received. If pen availability runs out before we receive your entry form, you will be contacted that day with the option to show off your trailer.- You may also choose to show off of your livestock trailer. Trailer parking is available on a first come, first serve basis. - We have limited space for washing and grooming, so please take this into consideration. Do not leave your animals in the washing pens.  Liability:The Atkinson County Livestock Committee reserves the right to interpret all rules. Decisions of the judge(s), classifiers, and the rules committee will be final.Atkinson County High School, Atkinson County FFA and Atkinson County Young Farmers will not be held responsible for any accidents, injury or theft that may take place.  Exhibitors are responsible for his or her own animal and assume all risk associated.
