Wanted: Apocalypse Squad
Do you believe climate change is real? Are you passionate about creating a sustainable planet? Then the Institute for the Future needs you! IFTF is holding The Apocalypse Project: House of Futures, a 7-month exhibition at the Future Gallery. The exhibition speculates our environmental futures through the lens of high fashion. What might we wear if rising sea levels, increased global temperatures, superstorms, drought, and polar vortexes become the new normal? The Apocalypse Project is a participatory platform where people can discuss their ideas about what makes a sustainable planet and what is a desirable future.
Volunteers will wear apocalypse jumpsuits and assist visitors as they smell perfumes based on smells that we could lose in the natural world due to climate change, wear garments from the Climate Change Couture collection, and go on a scavenger hunt around the gallery while answering questions about climate change and sustainability.
