2025 RIFLA Novice Teacher Award- Applicant Form

In an effort to encourage new teachers to become involved in professional development organizations and to promote current initiatives in the teaching of world languages, the RIFLA Board is offering the Novice Teacher Award, which includes an ACTFL membership for one full year and one ACTFL webinar. 


To be eligible for this award, applicants must be 

1) novice teachers with three years or less experience; 

2) members of RIFLA; and 

3) teachers of world languages. 


The recipient is encouraged to present on the webinar topic at the following RIFLA Fall Conference.


Applications must include: 

1) letter of recommendation from the department chair or immediate supervisor and

2) this completed form.

The recommendation must be submitted electronically in pdf form to riflainfo@gmail.com by March 28th with NOVICE TEACHER AWARD APPLICATION in the subject line.


The award will be presented in early May at the annual RIFLA Spring Meeting. Attendance is mandatory.
