2017 Spring Work Day - Friends of the Shakers
The Friends of the Shakers invites members and the public to join their Spring Work Day, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, to help the Sabbathday Lake Shakers and Shaker Museum by readying the Village for opening day.

The Friends of the Shakers, a non-profit support organization, holds multiple work days at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village. You'll spend the day working at various assignments suitable for all ages and abilities. Work days bring chores, but fellowship as well.

Everyone shares the noon meal, conversation, and laughter. Please bring a potluck side dish or dessert to share (drop-off food at check-in table).

Members and volunteers will help ready the Village for visitors by sweeping away the winter sand, cleaning out the hay barn, helping in the herb department, prepping the Shakers’ gardens, clearing brush, washing windows, and so much more!

Chores start at 9 am and last until 3 pm. Pre-registration is encouraged and the public is more than welcome.

You can arrive at any time and stay for as long as you are able to.

There will be a sign-in table located on the lawn at the back of the Brick Dwelling House and a task list to choose from at sign-in. All tools will be supplied but if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, feel free to wear them as well as your yard-work clothes!
