Who We Are: ReEstablish Richmond’s mission is to help refugees establish roots, build community, and become self-sufficient. We are a 501c3 charitable organization that was formed in 2010 to fill a void with initial refugee resettlement. Interns will work with people who have been resettled in Richmond as refugees. Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. They have permanent legal residency in the countries where they are resettled.
Our Programs:Our programing includes transportation, health and wellness, volunteer coordination, and community engagement. We collaborate with resettlement agencies, residential property owners, educators, faith communities, and other organizations to ensure that every refugee resettled in Richmond has the opportunity to establish roots and build community. ReEstablish Richmond is located within Scott's Addition in Richmond city, on the bus line. Our address is 2920 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230.
Depending on your internship requirements and interests, there are opportunities for both direct and indirect service. This internship is unpaid, but is rich in educational experiences on other cultures, religions and individuals. You will also learn what it means to work in a small but growing nonprofit.
