Those that participate in our program earn playing time. We encourage our coaches to play everyone as much as possible, but there is no playing time rule. Kids earn the most playing time by attending practices regularly, being coachable, and having skill progression.
Our teams play against other competitive club teams in the KC Metro. We play in our sponsored KC Premiere league year-round (Sundays), as well as 1-2 tournaments per month (either KC Premiere tournaments or other local/regional tournaments hosted by other organizations).
Both our boys and girls teams typically play at least once a weekend (league and/or tournament). Each team/grade level varies on tournament participation. Our more competitive teams will participate in more tournaments.
The breakdown on our teams is as follows:
Boys - Grades 3-11th (grades 8-11th do not participate during MS/HS season)Girls - Grades 3-7th
BOYSAll our boys teams practice in Shawnee Mission School District locations. For grades 3-8th, practices are usually twice a week (Tuesdays/Thursdays). For grades 9-11th, practices are usually once a week (Tuesdays or Thursdays).
GIRLSOur girls teams practice both in Shawnee Mission School District and Park Hill School District locations (depending on which location is closer to you). Practices are at least once a week (Mondays and/or Wednesdays), depending on which location.
We play basketball year-round. The breakdown of our "sessions" are typically as follows:
Fall (September-October)Winter (November-February)Spring/Summer (March-July)
Prior to each session, we hold tryouts for both current and new participants looking to play with us. We do make cuts. For those that make one of our teams, we ask that each participant at least commits to one "session" when wanting to play with us. It is possible that spots on teams are still available even after tryouts. If any spots are open, we will contact you after we review your player profile (submitted below).
