The Vice President is nominated and elected for a three-year cycle. The Vice President moves through a 3-year succession from VP, to President, to Past-President. Each year holds specific leadership and governance responsibilities. To be nominated as a VP, the person must have served on ESJ’s Board of Directors (or Leadership Team) previously. All candidates must be members in good standing with ESJ with a demonstrated commitment to social justice and education.
Board Directors play an important role in the governance of Educators for Social Justice. Board Directors are elected for a three year term. They are expected to be a member in good standing with ESJ. They will attend Board meetings and actively contribute to the governance of the organization, actively participate in Conference planning, promote the financial health and stability of the organization, serve as a Committee Chair, and be committed to social justice education.
