Volunteer at the Hebden Bridge Clothes Swap! (Sat 12th July)
Hebden Bridge Clothes Swap aims to help reduce fast fashion consumption by encouraging people to buy less and swap more!

Our pop-up swap is a busy day and we need lots of people to help us on the day. Please fill out this form to join our team of volunteers.

Here's what you need to know before completing the form:
  • The event will be held at Hebden Bridge Town Hall, opening to the public from 11am - 3pm on Saturday 12th July.
  • We will need people to help out between 9.30am - 5pm.
  • We will make sure everyone gets sufficient breaks and time to enjoy the swap.
  • Volunteers are welcome to take away extra items for free.
  • We work in three teams:
    • 'In' desk - 2 - 3 people registering people on the door, checking clothes quality and taking donations. (One person needs to be confident with using excel to register guests)
    • 'Out' desk - 2 - 3 people checking people out of the event, counting items taken, taking payment for extra items, helping bag items. (One person needs to be confident with using excel to check out guests)
    • Floor team - organising clothing coming in into categories, hanging/ folding clothes and distributing them to the floor.
  • Other tasks include: 
    • Helping set up / take down - e.g. assemble/dismantle clothes rails, packing boxes, putting away clothes hangers, put up/take down decorations.
    • Chalking the streets - before the event starts, go around town drawing arrows/signs in chalk on the pavements to encourage people towards the event.
    • Put up posters / distribute flyers (2 - 3 weeks on the run up to the event).
    • Distribute leftover clothes to charity shops or refugee charities.
