Following the completion of this form, your pitch will be reviewed by the members of the Editorial Board and, if accepted, will be assigned a Primary and Secondary Editor to work with you on the production of your article drafts. Acceptance of your pitch does not guarantee the publication of your work.

EPOCH History Magazine accepts any article, tutorial, or review that is historical in nature. We do not accept works of fiction, poetry, comics, or graphic art submissions; you will not receive a response if you submit such work. You may wish to submit such works to Epoch Literary Magazine instead: www.epochliterary.com

Articles are standard pieces which address a historical theme or issue in which you present a unique view shaped by your research to a wider public audience.

Tutorials are guides aimed largely at an undergraduate level which seek to provide guidance on working with a particular source type or methodology.

Reviews are shorter pieces which address a particular work e.g. film, tv show, game, or book etc. and seek to critique the work and offer readers a clearer understanding of how the work engages with history.

Your Pitch (150-300 words) *
Pitches must clearly describe to our editors what you intend to discuss, why it’s worth discussing, and how it will be discussed. The pitches most likely to be successful have a clear focus, a hook and are concise. Pitches under 150 words will not be considered and you will not receive a response. Footnotes are not supported. We do not accept poetry and would advise you to submit to EPOCH literary instead. Poems will not be considered for publication and you will not receive a response. We do not provide financial renumeration to contributors.
How quickly do you think you could present a first draft? *
This is not a strict deadline, but it helps us manage the workload of our Editors so that all of our submissions can be prepared in time for publication.
