WPS believes in supporting the safe and responsible use of all online and digital technologies for teaching and learning. *
Required
As we invite teachers and classmates into each other's home virtually, we expect that all students will be good digital citizens who demonstrate and practice safe, responsible, and legal use of technology in a positive manner. *
Required
Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate school behavior in all virtual sessions. These sessions are an extension of the classroom and as such all handbook and district policies apply. *
Required
Additionally, we expect that everyone in each household engaged in a session will respect student confidentiality at all times. As such, we ask that whenever possible, parents/guardians ensure that other than the student, no other individual is actively observing or otherwise participating during live sessions. This is in an effort to avoid any third parties from obtaining, even incidentally, any personal identifiable information about any other child. *
Required
Attendance for Distance Learning (RLA) is mandatory. Attendance will be taken in each class and students who are not logged in will be market absent. Students are expected to be on time and virtually present via video and audio. *
Required
Students should have headsets on during all live, remote sessions, so they can continue to communicate with their teachers and peers, in private, and with minimal distractions. Please contact your child's principal if this is a hardship or concern. *
Required
By allowing your child to participate in live, virtual sessions, you are acknowledging that there are additional privacy limitations that may not be present in an in-person classroom setting. If you have concerns related to privacy, please email your child's principal. *
Required
Recording of any portion of any session by any party other than the teacher running the session is strictly prohibited. This includes posting excerpts of, or about a session on any form of social media. If the teacher does record a live session, they will let the class know ahead of time. *
Required
WPS staff reserves the right to end any student's participation in a live session if their presence, that of a parent/guardian or any third party or activity, causes a disruption of the educational process during the Remote Learning session.  If a session is terminated, the parent will be notified by the teacher and the district can determine alternative means to provide the learning opportunity. *
Required
The WPS Responsible Use Policy and WPS Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan Policy are both still in effect as we implemented this Remote Learning Plan. *
Required
By permitting your child to participate in live virtual sessions, parents/guardians are agreeing to the terms and conditions as stated above. If you disagree with these terms and conditions, you must provide us written notice by emailing your child's principal. If you are in disagreement, the district will determine alternative means by which to address your child's educational needs. *
