We urge House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole to reverse his decision rendering nonprofits ineligible from receiving Community Project Funding dollars in the Economic Development Initiative account of the pending Federal Appropriations process. If unchanged, nonprofits across Ohio and the country providing food, shelter from domestic violence, housing, and other critical services would lose access to nearly one billion dollars worth of revenue at a time when the nonprofit sector remains strained by high demand as we continue navigating the challenges of the post-pandemic period.

Together, the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County, the Center for Community Solutions, the Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County and Advocates for Ohio's Future support thousands of nonprofits serving millions of Ohioans across our state.

The nonprofits that we serve, and our partners in philanthropy, business, healthcare, and local government, stand together in urging Chairman Cole to maintain the eligibility of nonprofits to receive Community Project Funding in the current appropriations cycle.
