Eide Scholarship Application
The Eide Scholarship is in memory of Cornelius and Bertha Eide. Bertha was from Miner County, South Dakota and a high school teacher. The Eide Scholarship will be awarded to one student per year with consideration given to one that is pursuing an education degree. A Howard, South Dakota High School Senior will be chosen each year based on the application process. The student must attend all four years at Howard, SD High School to be eligible to apply. The amount of the scholarship is contingent on the earnings generated from the scholarship investment. The amount awarded may vary from year to year. These earnings will be divided among all recipients each year to help cover the expenses listed below.

Please be aware of the following guidelines:


1. The student must attend a South Dakota University and be a full-time student.

2. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 must be maintained each reporting period to remain eligible for the scholarship.  Once a student fails to maintain a 3.0 grade point average, they are permanently ineligible to participate in the scholarship.

3. Student must submit an official transcript to the superintendent after each college semester to confirm eligibility.

4. Reimbursement is available for graduate and undergraduate studies. Eligible expenses include:

    a. Tuition and enrollment fees
    b. On-campus housing
    c. Meal plan
    d. Books/equipment

5. Keep receipts of your books and submit them to the business manager for reimbursements.

6. The scholarship will be paid directly to the university after all other scholarships, grants, and financial aid have been applied. The student will submit a bill to the business manager.

7. Areas covered by the scholarship will be based on scholarship proceeds and number of recipients. If there are not enough funds in the account to pay the expenses in full for all recipients, the proceeds will be distributed as an equal percentage based on the submitted bills.
