IACET Innovation of the Year Award – Learner Engagement
Student Engagement: Students are engaged when they are involved in their work, persist
despite challenges and obstacles and take visible delight in accomplishing their work. Student
engagement also refers to a "student's willingness, need, desire and compulsion to participate
in, and be successful in, the learning process promoting higher level thinking for enduring
understanding."

Student Engagement: Refers to the degree of attention, curiosity, interest, optimism, and
passion that students show when they are learning or being taught, which extends to the level of
motivation they have to learn and progress in their learning.

Is Student Engagement “old-school” or more relevant than ever in education and training?
Recent research has explored the way learners learn and the word “engagement” comes up
time and time again. We want to hear from our Accredited Providers about some of the
innovative ways you keep your students engaged in the content in an instructor-led learning
session.

To try and capture the “best of the best” in engagement and the classroom learning
environment, IACET is offering the, Innovation of the Year Award – Learner Engagement. If your organization has a specific course that is successful at engaging the learner in the classroom in an innovative way, submit an award nomination using the form below.

Open to IACET Accredited Providers only. Awardees cannot be IACET Sponsors and an
organization cannot win the same award more frequently than every five years.
