Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer for the 3rd Annual Bay Area Night Market. Your assistance will help make this year's night market an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Please answer all questions and click submit at the end of the form. We will contact you by June 23 for your position.

Volunteers must attend a phone call orientation or an in-person volunteer orientation on July 7 at Go Chang Newark at 11:30 am. Milk tea and drinks will be provided at the orientation.

All volunteers will be provided free admission on your volunteer day(s) and meal from participating vendors.

Position Overview
Exit Monitor: Ensures that attendees use the exit only for exiting the event area. Prevent attendees from "sneaking" into the event area without paying for an admission ticket. Must be able to stand for short periods of time. Volunteer must not be on phone or easily distracted. Chair will be provided. Entrance Monitor: greets attendees and assists with getting into the correct line (pre-paid, box office, re-entry etc) Ticket Scanner: Must have general knowledge on use of apps on an Ipod. Use Yapsody app to scan QR code of attendees. Be able to answer general questions of attendees. Vendor Assistant: Assist in directing vendors to correct booth space prior to event. Be able to handle at least 4 vendors at a time. Evening shift vendor assistants will be checking food vendors on wait times for lines and checking if they are running low or out of menu items. As well be the onsite contact person for vendors in case they need assistance. Assistant will then contact appropriate event lead. Must be able to attend in person orientation on July 7. Rover : Walk around the event area an ensure attendees safety. Answer general questions of attendees (where is the bathroom? when is the first aid station? etc) Must report any suspicious activity to security guards. Be comfortable with being outdoors and on your feet for a couple hours. Must be able to attend in person orientation on July 7. Social Media Meet and Greet Assistants: on June 16 at Bubbly Tea in San Jose 9:30 am- 12:30 pm: Assist event organizer with assigned duties (greeting guests, setup, cleanup, ensuring that public does not consume vendor samples etc)

Bay Area Night Market Volunteer Application Release and Waiver of Liability PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! THIS LEGAL DOCUMENT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS!This Release and Waiver of Liability executed by the “Volunteer” in favor of Bay Area Night Market under the company of Sweet Imaginations located in Pleasanton, CA, their producers, coordinators, and agents (collectively, “BANM”). The Volunteer desires to work as a volunteer with BANM, and engage in the activities related to being a volunteer (the "Activities"). The Volunteer understands that the activities may include standing for long periods of time, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, building/breaking down stages, handling heavy equipment, lifting, and interacting with spectators depending on positions during events. The Volunteer hereby freely, voluntarily, and without duress executes this Release under the following terms: 1. Release and Waiver. Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless BANM and its successors, and agents from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, by law which arise or may hereafter arise from Volunteer’s Activities with Bay Area Night Market and its events. The Volunteer understands that this Release discharges BANM from any liability or claim that the Volunteer may have against BANM and Sweet Imaginations with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from Volunteer’s Activities at BANM, whether caused by the negligence of BANM or its coordinators, council, BANM committees, producers, agents or otherwise. The Volunteer also understands that BANM does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness. 2. Medical Treatment. Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge BANM and Sweet Imaginations from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with the Volunteer’s activities with BANM. 3. Assumption of the Risk. The Volunteer understands that the activities at BANM, include work that may be in involved with long periods of standing and/or walking, including, but not limited to, loading and unloading, building/breaking down structures, lifting, bending, handling heavy loads and/or equipment and working with spectators.Volunteer hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in the Activities and releases BANM and its agents ALL liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the activities. 4. Insurance. The Volunteer understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by BANM in writing; BANM does not carry or maintain health, medical, workers compensation, disability insurance coverage for any volunteer. No employment relationship is created by volunteering for BANM. Each Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage. 5. Photographic Release. The Volunteer does hereby grant and convey unto BANM and Sweet Imaginations all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by BANM during the Volunteer’s activities or participation with BANM, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. 6. Other. The Volunteer expressly agrees that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the City of Newark and Pleasanton and County of Alameda and the State of California and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the City Newark and Pleasanton and County of Alameda and the State of California. Volunteer agrees that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release which shall continue to be enforceable.
