Highland Park 4th of July Stories
As we are still processing and grieving the horrific events that unfolded in our community on July 4th, our office has been hard at work thinking through the most meaningful way to channel the energy of our incredibly engaged community. I want you to know that I am working hard on legislation to prevent future gun violence tragedies. This vitally important work takes time, especially to get it right. When the time comes for the community to help push this legislation forward, I promise to let you know as soon as I do.

One of the most meaningful things that we as a community can do right now is to collect stories from the survivors and victims of the Highland Park shooting. Collecting stories from those who have suffered and continue to suffer the real life effects of gun violence is one way to show the real impact that these preventable tragedies have on people, and the community as a whole.

If you feel comfortable, I respectfully ask that you share your story with me and my team through the google form below. I am more than happy to keep your recollection of events anonymous if that is your wish. These stories have power, and when the time comes I plan to use these stories to push for meaningful gun violence prevention legislation that will save lives and prevent other communities from experiencing the horror that we did on July 4th.
