After-School Options (Fall 2019)
Our after-school program in the lower school runs from 3:30-4:30 and always includes options for quiet study or reading time and free play on our playground. Additionally, students may sign up in advance for special programs offered on certain days. Each of these programs meets once a week for eleven weeks, from September 9 through November 22.

The cost is $135 per program for the term (unless otherwise noted), payable upon registration. Refunds are offered only if enrollment minimums for the program are not met.

Beginning Ballet (Mondays, grades K-2)
This beginning ballet class, led by master teacher Lesley Crosby, is for younger students and meets once a week in our dance studio.

Instructor: Lesley Crosby
Cost: $165

Biography: After a career as a professional ballerina Lesley Crosby, who hails from England, completed her ballet teacher certification at the world-renowned Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada. Lesley has taught in many international ballet studios including AIS Japan, Portland Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Walnut Hill School of the Arts among others. Lesley is a highly qualified teacher of The Royal Academy of Dance and Cecchetti Ballet. She has choreographed for musicals, television and full-length ballets including The Nutcracker Ballet and has over twenty-five years of teaching experience.
Ballet (Mondays 4:30-5:45, Wednesdays 3:30-5:00, grades 4-6)
This traditional ballet class, led by master teacher Lesley Crosby, is for older students and meets twice a week, on Mondays from 4:30-5:15 and on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00. Wednesday's class is integrated with modern dance.

Cost: $360 (two weekly meetings)
Time: Mondays 4:30-5:45 AND Wednesdays 3:30-5:00

***FULL*** Noticing Nature (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, grades K-2)
Enjoy play and project-based exploration of nature! This program runs from dismissal until 5:00; the cost of $190 includes snack and all materials. When enrolling below, please select the ONE day of the week that works best for your schedule. This activity is limited to 6 participants and is first come, first served.

Time: dismissal until 5:00
***FULL*** The Kids' Table (Tuesdays, grades 1-5)
In this educational, hands-on opportunity, students in grades 1-5 can participate in many different areas of safe food handling, food preparation, food preservation, and of course, consumption. Participants will have the chance to prepare and bring home a number of different creations and will learn about different ingredients and the roles those ingredients play in their creations. Limited to 7 participants.

Bement News (Wednesdays, grades 2-5)
Create and produce a monthly news program to highlight all that is happening at Bement! Working together, students will use curiosity, writing skills, green screen, video editing, and collaboration to create a news show that both informs and entertains.

Flag Rugby (Wednesdays, grades 3-5)
Rugby, American football's cool older sibling! We'll be learning some basic rugby passing, kicking, rules, game play, and sportsmanship, a hallmark of the game.

Instructor: Katie MacCallum
Yoga (Thursdays, grades 2-5)
Through yoga and movement, this class will take your child on imaginative adventures to wild and beautiful places
like the rain forest, the African plains, and the Arabian deserts. We will explore asana (yoga poses) and pranayama (breath work) with highly imaginative movement and play, allowing children to build strength, increase flexibility, and improve concentration...all while having fun! Class ends with restorative poses, leaving your little one happy, inspired, and relaxed.

Cost: $165 (including fee for a mat)
Flag Football (Thursdays, grades 2-5)
Have fun learning the rules and playing friendly games of flag football, a non-physical approach to this favorite game, with the help of football expert Mr. D! All skill levels welcome. Limited to 12 participants.
