Urban Intensive- Jan. 17, 24, 31, Feb. 7 | 6-8 pm| The Roastery 24 S. 16th St.
The Urban Intensive is a 4-week deep dive into understanding poverty in our city. Participants explore how scripture defines poverty and what we can learn from the Bible about solutions we should seek. The final sessions work to help an individual identify where their passion meets the need and identify next steps for how they can start doing deeper work.
Poverty Simulation- Feb. 9-11
Designed to help someone increase their compassion for people who are experiencing poverty, this immersive experience gives someone a small taste of the emotions, physical realities, obstacles someone in poverty might face. We ask for a $50 donation to offset the cost of the learning experience if you are able

"Jesus and the Disinherited" Book Discussion- Feb. 28 | 6:30-8 pm
Howard Thurman was a Christian Theologian and ministry leader whose writings are a helpful guide in the deep work of loving God and Neighbor- especially when it comes to loving one another across ethnic and socio-economic lines. Join us for a discussion of his book, "Jesus and the Disinherited." Please read the book in advance and come ready to reflect on the reading together. Here is a link to order the book.

Join us for a solution-focused conversation about how people of faith can respond to the housing crisis. From homelessness to workforce housing shortages, many of our neighbors are hurting. Now is the time for the Church to step up and explore creative responses. Join a collaboration of faith community members as we explore specific ways to leverage our personal property and our church properties to “seek the peace of our city” by increasing access to affordable housing.
