What is an Isesaki host?
Hosts show high school students from Japan around Springfield for 1-day.

When is it?
Saturday, June 1st (8:30am-4:30pm); Sunday, June 2nd (8:30am-4:30pm); Sunday, August 4th (8:30am-4:30pm)
Families are welcome to host one or multiple days, as their schedules allow. Families who host multiple days will have different students each day.

Where will it be?
Students are picked up at the MSU campus and from there, it's up to the family. Families can do regular daily activities, like prepare lunch, play in the yard, go to church, or watch a movie, or plan an outing. Popular past activities include going to the park, swimming, shopping, playing Wii, and eating Andy’s frozen custard!

Who can host?
Families can be married or single, any age (hosts under age 18 must have a co-host, such as a parent, who is at least 18), with or without kids, and no cultural background knowledge is required. Don’t worry about a language barrier; the kids will connect to your kindness and hospitality, even if they have trouble understanding vocabulary. The only requirement is that you show hospitality and keep the students safe.

The Students: We ask that families host a minimum of 2 students, and the maximum is only limited by the number of seatbelts in your vehicle. Requests of boys/girls will be met when possible (please note preferences below). The students do speak English (varying levels), but they tend to be a little shy! Speak slowly and be encouraging to help them practice.
