Intertwined: Living In Balance With Nature
***PLEASE NOTE: The Nahl camp group is FULL (entering 1st-2nd grade Fall 2017). The waitlist is also full.***

The theme of camp this summer will be exploring our connections to the Earth and our own spiritual and physical self. We will explore our belief that the whole Earth is a mosque for us. The beauties of the Earth are, the Quran tells us, a "reminder to mankind", a reminder to those who are disposed to remember their beginning and their end. Your child will learn the importance of connecting with the natural world to grow closer to God. Sign up your child for what promises to be a fun and enriching experience.

UPDATED: Location and Time:
River Garden summer camp will take place at the beautiful campus of the American Islamic College in Lake View, right beside the parks, lakefront, and beaches. We will venture to the beach weekly, and enjoy daily excursions to the nearby parks and recreation. After you sign up your child, we will share additional details with you as the camp dates approach, including the daily schedule and menu. We plan to include weekly kids' Friday prayers, a service project and trips to the beach and parks (weather permitting).

The camp program will be two weeks. The tuition will be $575 for 2 weeks, or $500 if you register by May 15. This fee is all-inclusive, covering a healthy zabiha lunch each day, snacks, field trips and a t-shirt. *A portion of all proceeds are contributed to the need-based scholarship fund. After you submit your child's registration form, you will be sent an invoice with instructions on how to pay online. All payments must be made through the online system.

Campers will engage in daily sports and fitness, camp team building activities, Islamic studies, Art, science, cooking, and fun field trips and excursions! Our field trips will include horse back riding in forest preserves within the Greater Chicago area, as well as canoeing in the beautiful and lush lagoons on the north side of Chicago.

Arabic Immersion:
We will also have an additional hour at the end of each day for Arabic Immersion, except on Thursdays, when we have a field trip. Campers will be immersed in the Arabic language through stories and participate in a fun craft or activity in a small group setting. It will be a chance for beginners to be exposed to the language and fluent speakers to have an opportunity to use their speaking and reading skills. This additional hour of instruction/activity will be $150/child for 2 weeks.

Nurturing each camper:
In order to ensure your child has the best experience possible, we strictly limit the camp groups' size. Participants are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a camp group is full, registrants not immediately enrolled will be placed on a wait list and notified in the event of a cancellation. Your child's spot will only be confirmed and reserved once payment has been made. All payments are final, non-refundable and non-transferable.
