The Department of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh is hosting a discussion about the political dynamics amongst various social groups and political forces contesting the space in the next 2024 elections. What does it means for these political forces, whether on the Right or Left, to win or lose in these elections? How does this advance or hinder the role of electoral politics in day-to-day social movement considerations? And what strategic steps ought organizational and political party leaders consider before getting involved in electoral politics, particularly prior to key milestones?
Our speakers are
Lara Putnam, a Professor of History,
Fernando Tormos-Aponte, an Assistant Professor of Sociology, and
Kristin Kanthak, and Associate Professor of Political Science.
The talk will take place at the Center for Urban Education room, Posvar, 4th floor, on October 2, 12PM. It's sponsored by the Department of Sociology, Department of Political Science, and Pitt Cyber.
