The Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission is thrilled to announce a celebration of creativity and community spirit – Artfest, 2025. The theme is Artoberfest! This vibrant art festival will transform Lakewood Park into a magical canvas of imagination on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 3 pm to 7 pm. Costumes are encouraged

We are calling all Young Artists to join us by displaying their art at the festival for our LPACC Art Contest. This is your chance to showcase your art for the community and maybe win a prize! This opportunity is open to artists aged 5 to 14.

What to know:

• The Theme is “October Magic”.

• Admission is Free! 

• Artists will be judged in two separate categories: 5-9 years old, 10-14 years old.

• We will be judging based on Creativity, Quality, and Overall Artistic Impression. 

• This is a family-friendly event.

• Participants are required to bring their own art and easel/display stand. The art must be secured to the easel, and the easel must be anchored to the ground with some sort of weights in case it gets windy.

• 1 piece of art per entry. We are looking to see your best work! We will welcome entries from any young artist from Leander or beyond. 

• Please keep the size of your artwork between 8” X 10” and 16” X 20”.

• This event is outdoors and will be Rain or Shine. We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged property. Please consider protecting your art with a transparent covering in case of inclement weather. 

• Please be respectful of other contestants, attendees, vendors, and staff. Tampering with other people’s art, soliciting, or other disrespectful behavior may lead to disqualification. If you are seeking to have your own vendor booth space or sponsor this event, please contact the Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission via our Facebook page. 

• Attendance at the event is required to participate. Bring the whole family!

• We will have volunteers to assist; however, LPACC is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged artwork or supplies. 

• An adult must accompany children. 

• Please see our Fairy House Contest, as well! This is another opportunity for Artists of any age or experience level to showcase their skills live at the Festival. 

How do I enter? 

1. Register using the Online Form below. DEADLINE Friday, October 4th at 5:00PM.

2. Bring your Art to ArtFest 2025 on October 11th. 

• Arrival and Installation: Please arrive and check in at the “Contest” Booth near the Kayak Building. Set your completed work in the designated space along the pathway between 2:45 pm and 3:15 pm. You must bring your own easel or display stand. Please secure your art and easels in case it gets windy. LPACC cannot provide any supplies or electricity. The Contest Art will be placed along the pathway near vendors, leading towards the Sculpture Trail. Our volunteers will help direct you so you don’t get lost. 

• Entry Card: On a card or sheet of paper, put the Name of Artist and/or Artwork, Grade, Contact Information, and a Description of the Art. Attach this card to your painting. 

3. Go enjoy the Festival and Lakewood Park with your family while you wait!

4. All festival-goers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite paintings in each category. The winners will be contacted using the contact information on the back of their Entry Cards. The winners are encouraged to take a photo with their art for Social Media!

5. Make sure you take your art home with you. Any artwork left behind at the end of the Festival may be taken away by the Forest Fairies or donated to charity!
