Civil War Photo Sleuth (
www.civilwarphotosleuth.com) will open our software to the public on August 1st, and we are having a launch event to celebrate! This event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Innovation Hub of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C. (
https://www.archives.gov/innovation-hub).
Kurt Luther (head of CWPS), Ron Coddington (editor of Military Images magazine), and the rest of the team will be there, helping folks use the site, identify unknown Civil War photos, and add identified photos to our reference database. A more detailed schedule of activities will be available once we have a better idea of the number of attendees.
We will have laptops available for you to use the site, or you can bring your own. Free wifi is available.
Please feel free to contact Kurt Luther (
photosleuthmi@gmail.com) with any questions. Thanks and we hope to see you there!
