The Finger Lakes Runners Club (FLRC) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, community-focused organization focused on promoting physical fitness and mental health through running. We are dedicated to the love of running—as a sport and a way of life—for fun, fitness, and camaraderie.
The FLRC Mini Grant program is intended to remove barriers to entry to the support and to encourage participation in running. Examples of support could include:
- Shoes
- Entry fees for a school to compete in a cross-country invitational
- New equipment or uniforms for a school team
- Assistance hosting a meet
- Assistance creating a course or group running opportunity or event
In particular, FLRC invites applications from groups and organizations that are
working to create environments of inclusion, diversity, and opportunity—whether by race, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, or disability—within the sport of running.
All applicants must be over 18 years of age.
FLRC Mini Grant requests that total less than $1000 will be considered by the Philanthrophy Committee while requests for more than this amount will be considered by the Board of Directors. Grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will make every effort to process requests in a timely manner. Expect a response in approximately 4 weeks with funds distributed within 14 days of a positive decision.
To apply, fill out the form below. No formal follow-up report is required, but a brief email describing the how the money was used and if it was a successful project would be appreciated -- and would increase the likelihood of receiving another FLRC Mini Grant in the future.
