Chamber Music Application Guidelines
The Pasadena Conservatory of Music's (PCM) Chamber Music Program aims to encourage and nurture young musicians in the study of chamber music. It is open to all students in the greater Los Angeles area studying strings and piano at intermediate and advanced levels. Students applying for the first time should carefully review the audition requirements with their private instructor to ensure they qualify for the program.

New and returning students must complete this application in ordered to be considered for the Chamber Music Program. All students will be required to audition and pay the $25 application fee.

Auditions will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at PCM (Barrett Hall) in 10-minute time slots from 3-7 pm.

All coachings will take place on Monday evenings from 7:15-9:00.

Audition Requirements:
Students at a minimum level of Suzuki Book 5 (or equivalent) are eligible. Students must have studied for at least three years and should have solid proficiency with rhythm, reading, and intonation (strings). Please prepare the following:

Strings:
Three-octave scale with vibrato
Two contrasting pieces, or one piece and one technical study
Sight reading

Piano:
Three-octave scales and arpeggios, hands together
Two contrasting pieces (minimum sonatina-level repertoire)
Sight reading
