Call for Racial Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Speakers 

Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN) & Thrive Alliance are looking for experienced professionals to support the capacity building of the Racial Equity Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Hub in Santa Clara and the San Mateo Counties nonprofit sector.

Both SVCN and Thrive’s overarching goal is to unify and amplify the voice of local community-serving nonprofits in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, respectively,  to be a force of positive social change and become more effective advocates for their organizations and communities. 

The REDI Hub is a joint effort between SVCN and Thrive Alliance to integrate racial equity, diversity and inclusion into the nonprofit community in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Together, they are committed and take action to address systemic racism, discrimination and inequity in our communities and organizations.

SVCN & Thrive are inviting speakers -- panelists, presenters, trainers, and facilitators -- to submit proposals on topics including but not limited to:

  • Racial Justice: Including topics such as institutional racism, historical context, race and work, systemic racism

  • Race and Identity: including topics such as intersectionality, microaggressions, power & privilege

  • Organizational Culture with REDI lens: including inclusive leadership, navigating difficult conversations, cultural humility, decision making, etc.

  • Governance and Nonprofit Boards: including board practices to advance REDI, diverse and inclusive boards

  • REDI Metrics and Accountability: Including REDI evaluation, data analytics, best practices for recruitment and retention, policies in the workplace supporting fairness

  • Support System: Including allyship and advocacy. 

  • Healing and Wellness. Including topics of healing trauma, self-care, compassion

  • Other

Speakers must present in an educational, non-commercial, non-self-promotional manner. Please, no sales pitches.

We encourage submissions from speakers who represent a wide range of backgrounds and we welcome speakers from outside Silicon Valley.
