WHAT: It is the PACT Elementary School Goal to have students and staff excited to read over the summer. Our goal is to read 2,026 books in the summer of 2026! That's a lot of books, so we need your help!

WHY: The more you read, the more you succeed. Did you know that research shows kids can lose an average of 20% of their reading progress over the summer? Let's not be part of this trend by keeping up our excitement for reading ALL summer long. 

WHEN: May 22 - August 23, 2026

HOW: Simple! For every book that is read (picture books all the way to novels - all lengths and genres) keep a running tally at home. When the summer comes to a close, submit your final count and favorite title in this form. (The link will be sent home again in August when the summer end date draws near). 

Student and staff books will be counted, and IF we get to the magic number of 2,026 as a PACT Elementary Community, classes will earn bookmarks from Dr. Bronson, along with some extra outside time, reading-style. We will find a day in the early Fall to once again walk together to our neighboring amphitheater/park for some outside reading and community building time.
