Do you know a person who worked for many years in local industries? Who shaped local industry? Who has great stories and experiences? Who has witness change over time in their industry?
About the project
Help the Historical Association of Catawba County preserve their stories by nominating someone for recognition at the upcoming event "Honoring Catawban Workers" in conjunction with the Smithsonian's temporary exhibit "The Way We Worked", at the County History Museum.

Trustees, staff and volunteers would like to honor the men and women who built the Catawban economy in the five following industries: furniture, ceramics, textiles, agriculture, and fiber optics.

If selected, your nominee will: be interviewed for an oral history video project by Historian in Residence, Richard Eller; receive two (2) free tickets to the recognition event; get a copy of the final DVD.

How to Apply
Recognition parameters are as follows: must be a living person who is willing to be interviewed on camera; must have worked in Catawba County.

Recognition event is scheduled for August 9, 6:30-9pm on the East Lawn of the original 1924 Courthouse. Advance tickets required.
