2019 Certified Volunteer Manager Program Application
The Certified Volunteer Manager (CVM) Program is designed to teach the leadership and management skills required of volunteer professionals including:
-Recruiting, placing, supporting, supervising, engaging, and recognizing volunteers
-Creating policies and procedures that reduce volunteer risks and liabilities
-Identifying ways to gain staff support and involvement in a volunteer program
-Assessing a volunteer program's outcomes and achievements
-Aligning a volunteer program with an organization's or agency's mission and goals
This training requires approximately 60-hours of time to complete including:
-A four-day, three-night training retreat with instructors who are experts in the field. This retreat is held at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in Morrilton, Arkansas beginning at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 28 and ending by 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 31.
-Assignments include assessing your volunteer management skills, learning from another volunteer program's intake process, and auditing your volunteer program's current strengths and weaknesses.
-A capstone project plan where you apply what you have learned to your volunteer program.
Participants who complete all requirements in full achieve the Certified Volunteer Manager designation.
$1,300 includes food and lodging for the four-day training retreat. All participants will have their own room. The fee also includes all training materials, instruction, mentoring, and support.
