20th June 2019 Introduction to Modern Day Slavery
Many people think that slavery happens only overseas, in developing countries. In fact, no country is free from modern slavery, even Britain. The Government estimates that there are tens of thousands people in modern day slavery in the UK.

Modern day slavery can affect people of any age, gender or race. However, most commonly, slavery affects people and communities who are vulnerable to being taken advantage of.

The Aim of this session is to raise awareness of Modern day slavery and many different forms it takes.

Objectives: By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

• Define the types of Modern Day Slavery
• Understand the affect of Modern day Slavery
• Know who to report concerns too and where to obtain guidance and support
