National Forest Community Recreation Fund Application
Applications are due by July 10, 2024

The Next 100 Coalition, in collaboration with the Forest Service, invites eligible organizations to submit proposals for the National Forest Community Recreation Fund. The program aims to foster relationships and community engagement between the public, the Forest Service, and the lands they manage by increasing access to outdoor recreation and enjoyment of national forests. With a focus on at least 60% of funds going toward work in Justice40 communities, the Forest Service is taking action to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion on lands managed by the agency, particularly related to conservation and outdoor recreation program delivery. The National Forest Community Recreation Fund is a pilot program and funding beyond the grant period will not be guaranteed.

The program aims to support new or existing gear libraries in communities on or near lands managed by the Forest Service. These projects will offer a range of outdoor equipment and programming to facilitate local recreation activities, with the primary objective of fostering connections with the agency and increasing opportunities to recreate on national forests. In addition, this program also seeks to support other initiatives that facilitate equitable access to, and enjoyment of lands managed by the Forest Service.
You may only submit one application on behalf of your organization and funding requests may not exceed $50,000.
