A Level Politics Conference 1st-2nd December

The Law/Politics Department is organising an overnight trip to London to attend the annual A Level Politics Conference, held in the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster on Sunday 1st December to Monday 2nd December. The Conference includes a range of high-profile speakers from the world of politics including John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons; Rt. Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg, Conservative MP; Jo Swinson, MP and Leader of the Liberal Democrats; Keir Starmer, Labour MP; Nigel Farage, Leader of the Brexit Party and Rt. Hon. Sir Alan Duncan, Foreign Office Minister. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions to each speaker. The trip will also include a visit to the Houses of Parliament, an optional ride on the London Eye, a sightseeing walking tour and free time for Christmas shopping in Oxford Street.

I acknowledge the need for full co-operation and responsible behaviour on his / her part. I understand that the College is insured in respect of its legal liabilities only and there is no Personal Accident Insurance cover. Accidents may therefore arise for which the College is not responsible. *I understand that the teacher in charge of the party will be acting 'in loco parentis’ and in the event of an accident I agree to my son / daughter / ward receiving medical treatment which might include the use of anaesthetic and blood transfusions, as considered necessary by the medical authorities present. *

Students are liable for the full cost of the trip once they have paid the deposit as the costings of the visit are calculated in the expectation that everyone that pays the deposit will participate. In the event of a student not being able to participate in the visit, the College will not be able to refund the student if third party payment has been made. If we establish that the visit is not viable, we will refund all deposits. *
NOTE: If the student is taking medication, please ensure that he/she will have adequate supplies of medication for the duration of the trip
