Argentine Tango Weekend: Beginners
Come and spend a different weekend with us at the cozy atmosphere of Sähinä cultural centre, just 10 minutes walking distance from Lauttasaari metro Station.
Argentine Tango is a highly improvisational dance in which a couple embraces and moves together to the music.
In this course, we will learn the basics of Argentine Tango. We will focus on learning how to communicate with our partner with our bodies and how to move together. We will learn to walk together as well as some basic patterns such as, rebounds, back ocho, sandwich, and the basic salida.
This course is suitable for you if you have no experience, but also, it can be good for couples who had some experience in the past and want to quickly refresh their skills.
Our teaching style characterises for creating a fun atmosphere where students can enjoy themselves. We encourage everyone to participate with questions and commentaries and to dance with different partners. Each session lasts 180 minutes with a 15 minute break. The teaching language is English.
No need to come with a partner but registration is required because there is a limited number of seats (8 couples). As we aim at ensuring role balance, if you register as a solo leader/follower, there may be a waiting list. No previous knowledge is needed.

Prices (per person):
Early bird (payment until 25.11): 70 euros
Normal Price: 80 euros
Students/unemployed/retired: 10% discount over normal price.
Price includes 24% VAT
We accept payment in cash, card and Edenred.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Once confirmed, registrations are binding. Upon enrolment, the student agrees to pay the prices indicated above. Refunds for cancellations are only possible against a medical certificate. You may transfer your place in the course to another person who will be dancing the same role. If the student experiences flu-like symptoms he/she should avoid coming to the lesson, send us an email explaining the situation, and the course fee will not be charged. (If, due to Covid-19 situation we need to suspend or re-schedule the course, we will offer different alternatives to the students, including total or partial refund, credit for a future course and online teaching).
Nadia and Daniel are originally from Chile and began teaching Argentinian tango together in Helsinki, in 2014. Since then they have developed a teaching method that takes into consideration the cultural differences between Latin America and Finland. They aim at making us all feel confident and comfortable in the tango embrace. Their teaching style characterizes for trying to make of the lesson a fun experience while emphasizing the connection in the couple, musicality and the social aspects of the dance. They have been invited to teach in different cities and events throughout Finland.
