Goal #5: MPUSD provides various programs and services to meet the social and emotional needs of students, engages community and educational partners and provides connectedness through positive school culture.
This goal was developed to address student engagement and school climate concerns, as highlighted by data on attendance, chronic absenteeism, and suspension rates. Educational partners emphasized the need for a comprehensive support system to help all students overcome barriers, with a focus on mental health, social-emotional support, parent engagement, and expanded learning opportunities. Positive feedback highlighted strong community and student engagement, but there were calls for increased parental involvement and collaboration.
