2019 Jubilee Deacon Nomination Form
* You must be a Jubilee Member to nominate a candidate for Deaconship.
Candidate Prerequisites
1. Candidate has been attending Jubilee Church for at least six months and is committed to Jubilee for at least one more year.
2. Candidate must be a member or currently in training.
3. Candidate must be serving in a ministry.
4. The candidate must display a heart to care for the whole congregation as well the clear leadership characteristics as defined by 1 Timothy 3 and Acts 6:1-7.
Process
1. Three Jubilee Members must complete and submit the below nomination form for each candidate.

2. Once submitted, elders and pastors will review candidates and forward approved candidates to the Deacon Officers

3. The Deacon officers will inform the candidates of their nomination and outline the approval and training process. (An acceptance from the nominated deacon is needed to proceed with the next steps)

4. All candidates that accept their nomination will be presented to the Deacon Board and begin the interview process.

4. The Deacon officers will form a committee to interview and approve the nominees.

6. Once the interviews are complete, the committee will present each candidate to the Deacon Board and make a recommendation on whether the candidate should be commissioned as a Deacon. The Deacon Board will have the opportunity to agree or provide feedback on the recommendations and approve the candidates.

7. Once approved by the Deacon Board, the candidates will begin training with either an Elder or Pastor.

8. If the candidate is approved by the elders and pastors (step 2), approved by the committee (step 4), approved by the Deacon Board (step 6), completes training (step 7), they will be fully commissioned as a Deacon of Jubilee Church.

Calling *
The first qualification of a deacon is calling, which is both inward and outward. The person individually should sense the call and the call must be confirmable by others. This is also displayed by having a godly burden to serve the local body of Christ in love and sacrifice. Please describe or provide an example of the candidate's calling.

The second qualification of a deacon is character. Though no leader can expect to be perfect, he or she must be exemplary, modeling in a consistent way the character of Christ. 1 Timothy 1-3 and Titus 1:5-9 offer a useful summary of the character qualifications. The third qualification of a deacon is competency. God calls each officer to serve in distinct and varying ways. The officer or candidate should evidence the inclination and ability to fulfill that particular Biblical role as well as the needs of the ministry.
