[Nov 6 10:00-10:45am EST] Program Presentation: Meet the Industrial Design program at Virginia Tech with Program Chair Martha Sullivan. We will share our specialization in emerging technologies, faculty research, and opportunities for partnerships.
[Nov 6 1:45-2:30pm EST] Career Paths "Petcha Kucha": a series of fast-paced presentations (20 slides × 20 seconds = 6 minutes each) by professionals about your role or industry and why students might consider this path. (Please prepare a Pecha Kucha presentation to participate in this event).
[Nov 7 9:00-10:00am EST] Future of Design Education Discussion: How might education best support industry needs? Guided discussion and brainstorm (professionals and faculty only) to provide feedback on curriculum, hiring practices, partnership opportunities.
[Nov 7 10:30-12:00pm EST] Practice Interview: Simulated interview for students to practice communication skills and presenting their portfolios. We will provide a 1-pager with suggested format and interview questions to make professional participation easy.
[Nov 7 3:30-4:00pm EST] Coffee Chat: We will pair you with a student who is interested in your role or industry for an informal conversation. Students will bring prepared questions.
