The "Pride Gives Back" program is NOT the same as NYC Pride's annual Working Grant program. We also support other programs and organizations that we believe have a significant impact on our communities. In all, NYC Pride is prepared to award over $200,000 in non-profit Pride Gives Back and Working Grants in FY 2019.
To be eligible for a NYC Pride-directed cash grant, your organization must:• Qualify for non-profit status under the Internal Revenue Service code• Create a program / event during the month of June for WorldPride 2019 **No programs held prior to or after the month of June will be considered**• Benefit the local LGBTQIA+ community served by NYC Pride• Demonstrate sound and responsible financial policies and management• Demonstrate the requested funds will support a program or event in the community
To ensure that charitable organizations receive the maximum benefit from our support, we give cash contributions. As a rule, we will not make contributions that support:• Auctions, raffles or opportunity drawings• Dance parties • Individual primary or secondary schools• Unrestricted operating funds • Individual scholarships or funds for individuals• Projects of a political nature, including lobbying• Pageants or talent competitions• Political organizations (candidates or parties, committees or legislation)• Loans or investments• Social clubs, including sororities or fraternities• Production of films, videotapes, recordings, publications or displays• Merchandise promotions• Organizations with a written policy of discrimination against any person or group based on sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other basis
APPLY FOR A PRIDE GIVES BACK GRANT An organization that believes they meet our eligibility requirements can submit an online application through the following form.
Please note the following information will be required to complete the application:• A concise description of the organization, including purpose and objectives• A concise description of the event / program the organization is looking to create for WorldPride 2019• Dollar amount of request• Proof of nonprofit status under the Internal Revenue Service code• List of officers and directors• History of organization• Most recent annual report or 990 (must be dated within 1 year from submission)• W9 (must be dated within 1 year from submission) The following questions are a list of questions that all participating organizations must answer to be considered for our 2019 "Pride Gives Back" grants. All applications are due no later than February 1st. NYC Pride will be awarding and announcing all grants with corresponding award amounts no later than February 28th, 2019. For 2019, NYC Pride is looking to provide funding for programs held during WorldPride in the month of June specifically assisting the following segments of our community: Transgender, POC, Elder, HIV / AIDS, and Youth. NYC Pride generally prefers to give to organizations with an operating budget of under $5 million but it is not a requirement.
