Urban Biofilter Web Developer Application

Web Developer for Green Infrastructure Project
Urban Biofilter - Oakland, CA

Urban Biofilter is a small Oakland-based non-profit. We are looking for an experienced web developer to work freelance on the website for our recently launched green infrastructure planning project: Adapt Oakland. The website will include an information platform for planners and interactive maps of West Oakland.

We are looking for an experienced developer with good problem-solving skills to develop the front-end interactive website as well as the database and back-end server. We have in-house graphic designers, but the web developer should have both UX and UI experience.

The project must be completed by the end of 2014. Adapt Oakland is being developed through a state grant, so we are looking for someone willing to work for a fixed fee.

Components of the website will include:
Interactive interface (knowledge of HTML5 and jQuery a plus)
Interactive maps (e.g. TileMill or similar OpenStreetMap-related technology)
Searchable database (e.g. MongoDB, node.js or Rails back-end)
Master plan documents

Urban Biofilter is an Oakland-based non-profit that creates, implements and advocates for biological systems solutions to pollution in urban areas.
