School Parent Council: The S.P.C. works closely with the School Site Council to review the school’s budget,recommend programs, sponsor events, solve problems, and raise funds for special school activities. (Meets (1x) monthly)
School Site Council: School-based decision-making is the responsibility of the School Site Council. For example,School Site Councils hire teachers (in some cases), approve school rules, and decide if students will wear uniforms. The School Site Council also may request waivers from some BPS policies. (Meets (1x) monthly)
Subcommittees formed by the School Site Council (S.S.C.) share specific tasks within the jurisdiction of the full committee. Subcommittees are responsible to work within the guidelines established by the S.S.C. groups.Hiring Committee: Responsible for the screening and interviewing of new candidates for potential hire to M.P.T.V.H.S.
Budget Committee (Fall Only): Preview and review whole school funds and share in decision-making.
Restorative Justice Committee: Implementation of best practices that emphasize accountability, making amends, and facilitating meetings between victims, offenders, and other persons.
Family & Parent Outreach Committee: Outreach work to bring parents together to evoke parent involvement.
School Policy Committee: Shared decision making that affect school community and culture.
Welcoming Committee: Plans events and activities that support positive school culture.
