CEASE (Communities Engaged and Advocating for a Smoke-free Environment) is pleased to issue a call for presentations for its 3rd annual conference, Trending Now: . This year we are partnered with ASCEND (A Student-Centered Entreprenurial Development ) in order to increase our scope of influence and services by empowering communities to take control of their health and effect social justice policies and practices. CEASE is a community-based participatory research (CBPR) collaboration between Baltimore neighborhoods, Fusion Partnerships and Morgan State University, to help low-income smokers quit and stay quit, and to prevent nonsmokers from starting. The December 1st conference intends to strengthen the long-standing partnerships on which CEASE is based, to generate new ideas for improving the health of Baltimore neighborhoods and to move beyond information gathering to sustaining communities. We invite health professionals, researchers, students, and citizens concerned about social justice and the health of inner-city neighborhoods to participate in this conference.
