TUESDAY, APRIL 14th @ 5:45 PM EST

Learn from leading experts in mental health, learning science, and psychology, as well as hear from a teacher and parent from the field, as to how to they are addressing their students’ – and their own - socio-emotional wellbeing during this collective crisis. We know that in the best of circumstances parents and teachers are collaborating on a daily basis. However, now in the times of COVID-19, how can this cycle continue, especially with our most vulnerable students and families? Together, parent and educator, we must find ways to deal with the anxiety and trauma that are facing us and our students during the current pandemic.
Join the National PTA and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) in this special opportunity to hear from experts Dr. Pamela Cantor of Turnaround for Children and Dr. Arthur Evans of the American Psychological Association as they share strategies families and teachers can use to support students - and one another - during this pandemic. Also hear from Jim Erey, a high school teacher in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and Antoinette Brown, a parent in Laurel, Maryland, about what they are doing to reduce stress and anxiety during this difficult time. This tele-townhall is made possible through the generous support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
