Experiential Studio: Application to Teach
The Harold B. Lee Library facilitates learning by improving discoverability of and access to resources and by providing spaces that foster collaboration, experimentation, creation, and discovery. The library's Experiential Studio helps achieve these strategic directions as BYU faculty utilize the studio to teach courses that are interdisciplinary, library-integrated, and experiential.

Interdisciplinary: The cross-disciplinary makeup of students, instructors, and course content.
Library Integration: The degree to which the course goes beyond using the studio as a space to teach, as demonstrated by pre-planned collaborative involvement of librarians and use of library collections, resources, and services.
Experiential Learning: The extent to which the learning environment is creative, collaborative, and experiential, as demonstrated by teaching methods implemented (e.g., design thinking, active learning) and the course structure (e.g., project-based).

The following application has 23 questions asking for general information (e.g., contact info, course info), course learning outcomes, and how the course aligns with the three criteria listed above. The studio steering committee will assess applications using the following rubric (https://bit.ly/hbllstudiorubric). The goal is to occupy the studio with as many courses as possible. However, the steering committee may decline a low-scoring application or invite the applicant to adapt the course and submit again.
