TEDxJHU Salon Speaker Contest

Are you a Hopkins student interested in giving a TEDx talk? Is there any advice you would like to impart among your peers? Do you have an idea worth spreading?

This year at the TEDxJHU Salon event "Note to Self," you will have the opportunity to be one of the student speakers! Here's how it works. Submit a video showcasing you and your story by October 25th. Your video will be posted to our Facebook page, and the 5 videos with the most votes by October 29th will be our finalists. Our team will evaluate the finalists based on production value, relevance, but most importantly, you and your idea worth sharing.

**UPDATE!**
Upon receiving feedback and suggestions regarding our student speaker contest, we have decided to accept paragraph submissions to enter our contest. Although video submissions are preferred, we do not want this requirement to hinder students from sharing their great ideas.

With this change, our submission deadline will now be extended to October 26, 11:59 PM. Thank you to everyone who’s already submitted their talks, and we can’t wait to hear more inspiring stories!

Please see the bottom of the form for paragraph submissions.

**Video Guidelines**
There is an example video below to give you an idea of what we're looking for. This video has very high production value, but as long as your idea is good, your video does not necessarily have to match this expectation. Also, your submission shouldn't be an exact copy of your talk. You won't have enough time in your video for that. Sell your idea, and tell your story. Think of this as a teaser video for your talk-- give us just enough to make us want to hear more!

TEDxJHU holds our annual salon event to provide an intimate space for Hopkins students to share their personal stories. Your talk should be in line with our theme, “Note to Self.” It should focus on any insight you have gained during your time at Hopkins. The video should be no longer than 90 seconds and submitted by 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 25th. You must be an upperclassman or graduate student at Hopkins to submit.
