Dublin City Council's Heritage Office is conducting an LGBTQ+ Oral History Project to capture the recollections and memories of LGBTQ+ people in Dublin in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 00s. We are looking to interview queer people who grew up in the twentieth century, or turned 25 before 1999, particularly those whose stories have not typically been included in queer narratives. The aim of this project is to create a collection of first-hand experiences of everyday queer life in Dublin during this period, which will be made publicly accessible via the
Digital Repository of Ireland to anybody with a general or research interest.
We are also inviting anybody with ephemera (e.g. pamphlets, posters, photographs, letters, items of clothing, badges, etc. No personal correspondence concerning third parties) from the period to have their items photographed so that it might form part of the collection.
